To be honest, in my opinion, we young generation being called the strawberry generation is quite unfair and harsh. The reason why I dare to say is that the newspaper reports are often drawing conclusion from a part. And in most cases, they are inclined to exaggerate the matters to mislead the masses' thinking. As a matter of fact, most of the young people would like to be responsible for their duties and works as good as they can. And I am no exception. Althought I am apt to get frustrated with the result which is not meeting my expectation, most of us will learn from our mistakes and improve it to be better. Since many people have looked upon us in this angle, we young generation should show our resistance towards stress and do every work as effective as we can.

I couldn’t agree more with the author of this article as well as you. I’d say that the media is the main culprit that causes most of the stigma and stereotypes attached to young generation. Indeed, there may be more and more people who don’t stick to one particular job, who care self-interest more than that of the group, who favor material lives over spiritual ones. But that’s just the difference in value, and the core value of a generation is bound to be different from that of the last generation. To eliminate the conflicts between the values of different generations, we need respect and mutual understanding, not criticism or discrimination. The media has been hindering the mutual understanding between different generations because it has distorted the truth in the first place, exaggerating the seriousness of the problem and provoking the last generation’s dislike of our generation. We may not stop the media from over-generalizing and drawing faulty conclusion, but we may try to see that we’re just different, and there’s no right or wrong as to one’s values.
