  1. When it comes to my most unforgettable journey I have ever had, riding motorcycle to Mt. Ali in midnight last semester may come to the first place. As a matter of fact, it was Martin's idea. Since he had nothing in his mind for his show& tell, he decided to travel around to get the inspiration. It was indeed a prompt decision for we did not plan it beforehand. We just simply looked up to GMAP to generally know how to get there. The night before setting off, Martin and I intended to sleep earlier so that we could also see the sunup there. However, to my astonishment, as I got up at 2:00 a.m. and woke Martin up, he told me that he did not sleep well last night owing to his abnormal body clock. Therefore, I had to take his place of being driver. To be honest, I still had not passed the motor license that time; therefore, you could imagine how dangerous it was for an inexperienced driver to ride up to the mountain. Besides, on our way to Mt. Ali, there were thick mists along our roadsides. Plus, the condition of roadways to Mt. Ali was bad as well. All of these unexpected situations really added challenges in our journey. As we rode half way up a hill, the temperature on the mountain declined acutely. Because both Martin and I did not wear some warm clothing in advance, the journey seemed to be quite harsh for us to keep progressing. Luckily, when we arrived at the summit, we met with the local tour guide there. He was rather enthusiastic and leaded us to see the famous attractions. Moreover, he guided us to the perfect location to admire the sunup and cloud sea. The moment we saw the marvelous scenery, all the difficulties we met with on our way to Mt. Ali fled away. This was indeed the most crazy and unforgettable journey I had ever experienced.

  2. Speaking of the most memorable journey I have ever taken, it has to be the trip I took with my friends to Kenting in my last summer vacation. I know Kenting sound so crappy and ordinary but there is indeed something that is worth remembering to me. Going to Kenting last summer though was the idea that I randomly brought up in last spring while I was out with my friends, my friends got more and more serious about it when the summer vacation was near. And then we started off with all the plans in Starbucks one night. We decided it would be a three- day trip and I would go book the HSR train tickets and another of my friends would go book the B&B and that day we would meet one of our friends in Taichung since she lives there. So there came finally the day we started out our trip. I got up so early and excited for this trip was going to be a total getaway from all my stress and troubles in the city. So we met our friends in Taichung and got to Kenting smoothly. I still remember what the moment felt like when we reached our B&B, checking in, getting ourselves ready to throw ourselves into the cold, blue, I-thought-it-would-be-clean-but-yet-not-so-much sea. I was waiting with my friend for other girls to refresh themselves, at the French window in the B&B, listening to the sound of the wind and the sea, feeling the breeze, and honestly I already felt pretty relaxed.
So regarding what we did at Kenting, they were nothing really extraordinary. We went snorkeling, and it was also when I actually saw clown fishes in wildlife; I wouldn’t have known how really fierce “Nemo” could be had I not been seen how it attacked the hand of our guide who tried to tease those clown fishes in the anemone. We also went around in the well-known Kenting street and went to a bar, having too much drink and laugh our heads off for whatever reason which I distinctly remembered. But it was really fun anyway; I’m pretty sure y’all know what it feels like when you are together with your friends, no more talking about homework or schools. It’s all about being relaxed, having yourself laugh, have your friends laugh; that’s all what matters.
Some may think that a journey should be more or less informative or educational; it would be even better if it can teach you something. But how I look at a journey is that as long as you are happy with your journey and you can be fully recharged with vigor again, the journey is meaningful and worth your time.

  3. When I was just eighteen years old in senior high school, my classmates and I went to the exam for motorcycle driver licenses. When we got the licenses, we had a crazy idea immediately. We want to go to the beach to see the sunset. This is a dangerous journey for a new motorcyclist. However, we were so young that we wanted to do something different than others. We lived in Taoyuan, and we decided to go to the Yong-An fishing port. This is one of the most famous tourist spot in Taoyuan. However, it took us almost 40km to get there. It is very comfortable to ride beside the shore. The wind was a little like a glue, but it smelled wonderful. All the scenes makes me feel relax. We are on our own adventure. The sun light illuminated the sea and made it be a huge gold. This was just a beginning of our life. We had lots of hope. That’s it, hope. Every time when I go to the beach, I will have this kind of feeling. The sunset was so beautiful that we didn’t want to go at all. We saw there are many couples holding each other and stop like us. We gave each other a hug although we were not couples. We are friends who care about each other. The destiny is quite interesting, it just put us together, and do such a crazy thing together, too. Although, there is no eternity such as the sunset, I’m glad that we have done this together. That day is just like the most glorious fireworks in my life.

  4. My most unforgettable journey is that last summer I went to Penghu with my boyfriend. We spent three days on Magong Island and went through all the famous tourist spots. It might sounds normal, but for me, it was really an unforgettable journey because it was my first time to go somewhere remote by myself; it was my first time to travel alone and we have to take care of ourselves; it was my first time that I have to rent a motor bike to travel around the island; it was my first time to get such a serious sunburn; it was my first time to enjoy such a wonderful and easy-going country life.

I was amazed by the fresh and fabulous seafood at Penghu, the hospitality of the locals and the extremely slow-pace around the island. In the morning, we went to the very first Machu temple at Penghu and wondering among the old alleys in Magong city. In the afternoon, we went to the famous lighthouse and peeked at the unlimited scenery. At night, we went onto the fishing boat to enjoy the BBQ oyster and try to catch squids by ourselves. People there were never in a rush, not even the drivers on the county road. They drove slowly, as if to appreciate the wonderful scenery of the island. We also went to the beautiful beach where the sand was completely white. And we visited the aquarium museum and the oldest local temple surrounded by the sacred trees.

It was really fun to travel around the island. Sometimes we get lost and sometimes we discover things that aren't mentioned in the tourist guide. We found a family selling dumplings in a small alley and we enjoyed the tasty dumplings at living room of their house and had small talks with the owner. We never expected that we can have dinner at someone's house. For me, my trip to Penghu is the most unforgettable journey.

  5. Dear Alfee,

I would have to say that it was very bold and reckless for you two to ride up to Mountain Ali, especially with an unexperienced and not-licensed rider. In fact, you were putting yourselves into dangerous situation. Riding motor bike at the middle of the night on the misty country road can be very dangerous. You should have thought more about the journey and consider more about yourself.

    Enough with the lecture.

Well, I believe that was really an unforgettable experience. It must be very exciting and special for you to ride up to the mountain at the early morning. I've always wanted to try once. However, I'm not a skillful rider and I was so afraid that I might create car accidents if I go on to the road. One day it was around midnight and there was no public transportation for my boyfriend to go home, so I rode him home. But at that time I was already very sleepy and tired that I couldn't really focus on riding. Thus, on our way to his place, I accidentally bumped into a taxi. Fortunately it was no big damage on the car and we were all fine. The taxi driver was very nice to me, too. After my apology, the taxi driver decided to let me go. But I was totally freak out. I was carrying my boyfriend and mine life but I was so careless that I almost ruined the whole thing. Later on I swear that I would not drive or ride when I am tired and sleepy to ensure that I won't put myself into dangerous situations.

Besides all these safety issues, I think that we sometimes can and should try something crazy and different when we are still young. But we have to consider about our safety seriously so that we won't regret afterwards. Hope you keep that in mind. =]

  6. Dear Joe,

I totally agree with you. A good journey can be educational or informative, but it can also be simply relaxing.

During the spring break, my boyfriend and I went to Pingsi for two days. And to tell the truth, we did nothing. We didn't go to any bars or rushing to anywhere to have fun. After we finished our dinner, we just spent hours sitting at the yard of our B&B, watching the rain drops dipping down at the edge of the roof, listening to the musics we love and having some small talks about people around us. Sounds like elderly people enjoying their time, right? But the feeling of being released from school works and all the tense from family, classmates, teachers was terrific. Although after the spring break was the mid term exams, we were not worried at all. We just enjoyed our time and indulged ourselves into the peaceful surrounding. That was really a wonderful journey.

Hope you have many chances to travel around and enjoy oneself in the future.

    Thanks for sharing. =]

  7. Dear Martin,

It was really brave for you to ride to Yong-an port right after you got your driving license. When I got mine driver license, I wasn't even dare to ride to the nearby supermarket. =p

There were countless sunsets in our life, but there were only few would go deeply into our heart. The most beautiful sunset I've even seen was the one at Ai-men beach in Magong. We spent whole afternoon at the beach, enjoying the shiny white sand and the glowing blue sky and sea. When we were about to leave, the sun sank into the edge of the sea and whole world was dyed with golden orange. It was magnificent scenery I have ever seen. I hope we can have more beautiful sunsets in our life. =]

    Thank you for sharing.
